Meet Ryan Kuhl
candidate for 20th circuit judge

Ryan Kuhl brings more than two decades of diverse legal experience to his candidacy for Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit Judge. His career spans criminal prosecution, civil trial litigation, insurance defense, arbitration, and mediation—providing him with a well-rounded perspective on the justice system and the people it serves.

 

Mr. Kuhl earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware in 1995 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1999, graduating cum laude. He was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1999, the Florida Bar in 2000, and the New York Bar in 2014.

 

Early in his career, Ryan served as a Prosecuting Attorney in Phoenix, Arizona, and later in Fort Myers, Florida, gaining extensive courtroom experience and a strong foundation in criminal law. He later became a Partner in a multi-state law firm specializing in personal injury litigation and has also practiced in insurance defense and FINRA arbitration matters.

 

Since 2012, Mr. Kuhl has been recognized by The Florida Bar as a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney—an achievement held by a small percentage of attorneys statewide. In 2015, he was certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Mediator, further demonstrating his commitment to fair resolution and judicial efficiency.

 

Ryan has lived and practiced law in Southwest Florida since 2003. He is AV Preeminent peer-review rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). His career reflects professionalism, preparation, and a deep respect for the rule of law—qualities he brings to his pursuit of judicial service.
